International Impact through Medicine works to provide medical care and medical education to under-served areas around the globe. We currently have two projects – one in Haiti, one in Honduras. Our goal is not to start new projects in these areas but rather to come alongside organizations that are already on the ground and support their medical efforts. We believe that preventative healthcare is just as important as providing care for acute illnesses. In Haiti, we partner with Global Vision Citadelle Ministries (GVCM). We support the GVCM medical clinic in Mirebalais, Haiti. The clinic in Haiti currently has a physician, pediatrician and nurse on staff with an average patient load of 80-100 patients per day. In Honduras, we partner with Love without Boundaries (Amor sin Fronteras). While we do not yet have a full-time medical clinic, there is a dentist on the ground with whom we partner. In addition, we run trips every six months and have an ongoing chronic disease program with approximately 150 patients. Our chronic disease patients receive refills every 3 months and can receive a telemedicine-type consult when needed. In the next two years, we are planning to take our first trip to the Ivory Coast, Africa.
Impact offers multiple volunteer opportunities for anyone wanting to get involved with medical missions. We offer multiple open medical trips each year, typically lasting a week at a time. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or check us out on Facebook for more information about upcoming trips. We also have multiple fundraising events throughout the year and can always use help with those. In addition, we often have other projects such as assembling school supply bags to be given out with the well-child checks or sewing projects for the orphanage. Please feel free to contact us via the website, email or Facebook for more information. We couldn’t do what we do without support from people like you so thank you!!
